I am a research scientist specializing in mammalian reproductive biology, sperm physiology, gamete maturation, and sperm–oocyte interaction. My research focuses on proteins from reproductive organs, gametes, and extracellular vesicles in reproductive fluids, including their isolation, biochemical characterization, localization, and functional binding properties. I apply chromatographic, electrophoretic, immunochemical, immunocytochemical, and functional sperm assays to study molecular mechanisms regulating sperm maturation, capacitation, fertilization competence, and preservation. I obtained my Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, where my doctoral work focused on boar seminal plasma proteins. Since 2008, I have been a research scientist at the Institute of Biotechnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Laboratory of Reproductive Biology. I also hold a part-time academic position at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, where I am involved in teaching (Gamete Biology ad Physiology and Molecular Mechanisms of Reproduction) and supervision of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. students. I have led several national and international research projects supported by the Czech Science Foundation, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, and CAS international mobility programmes. My scientific output includes more than 70 original research papers, patents (3), certified methodologies (2), international conference presentations (more tahn 40), invited lectures (5), and professional reviewing for international journals in reproductive biology, molecular biology, and animal science.
